Weekend Highlights: Fairy Tale Fashion

Happy Monday! I had a great weekend wandering these NYC streets, and on Saturday afternoon I wandered right into the Museum at FIT to check out the "Fairy Tale Fashion" exhibit. The exhibit was organized by associate curator Colleen Hill and combines our favorite fairy tales with high fashion. The room was filled with unique clothing by designers such as Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Prada, Rick Owens, Dolce and Gabbana and so much more. Walking around gazing at the magical creations made me realize what a huge role fashion plays in fairy tales. Cinderella's glass slipper, Little Red Riding Hood's red cape and Dorothy's ruby red shoes are significant to these stories. I truly enjoyed this exhibit and found it inspiring, that's what I love about museums. If you are in need of fresh ideas, new perspective or have writers block, check out an exhibit. Just being in the presence of art gets those creative juices flowing for me. I snapped a ton of pictures to share with you all, enjoy!
