Being a vegan can be difficult in any city--especially when you're out to eat with friends. There are a lot of restaurants that offer boring vegan options (like plain salads or a side of steamed vegetables). As more people are transitioning to vegan lifestyles, more options are becoming available. There are some awesome vegan restaurants in NYC that are so good, your meat eating friends will become obsessed!

An amazing vegan restaurant to try is by CHLOE. This West Village eatery has only been open since July 2015 and they already have a huge fan base. On any given day, you can expect to see this restaurant filled with hungry vegans (and non-vegans) waiting to get their fix.

by CHLOE is a favorite because they have delicious food that is wholesome, plant-based and locally-sourced. The menu is huge and varies from cold-pressed juices, smoothies, burgers, salads, pasta and sweets (pastries, cupcakes, ice cream). The best thing about their menu is that everything is 100% vegan!

Although the lines can get long, it moves very quickly and efficiently. The restaurant isn't that big but there is a good amount of seating. There is also seating outside. This place is perfect from brunch with your friends, grabbing breakfast on the go or even a lunch meeting.

Their Pesto Meatball sandwich is so good that it will have you questioning if you're eating meat. Their fries (original or sweet potato) are air baked so you can indulge without feeling guilty. They also change their soups and market veggies daily--so you will never get bored with the options here. Everything is made from scratch including their condiments which include beet ketchup and chipotle aioli.
