5 Podcasts To Get You Through Your Day

If you're like me, your morning commute can be stressful. I learned that a great way to relieve the stress of my morning commute is to be entertained and to feel like I am doing something productive. One of the great ways that I found to stay up to date and learn something new is to listen to podcasts.

What is a podcast?

a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading to a computer or portable media player, typically available as a series, new installments of which can be received by subscribers automatically.

There are podcasts for everyones interests. Whether it be health, music, news, fashion...etc. There is something for everyone!

Here is a list of the 5 Podcasts that I'm currently listening to and what helps me get through my morning commute and through my day overall.

1. Angela Yee's Lip Service

I am a fan of The Breakfast Club on Power 105 and when I found out that Angela Yee had a podcast, I had to check it out. Angela Yee's Lip Service is basically a show with Angel Yee and her girlfriends (Stephanie Santiago and Gig Maguire) discussing relationships/love/sex with some of the most poppin celebrities in Hip-Hop & RnB. Each week there is a new celeb guest and they discuss their thoughts on the topics being talked about that day.

I like this podcast because Angela Yee and her friends make their guests feel comfortable to the point where they share their intimate moments and thoughts. It's definitely an entertaining podcast!

2. The Brilliant Idiots

This podcast features a comedian and a self-proclaimed 'truth teller': Andrew Schultz and Charlamagne Tha God. As you can see, I really enjoy The Breakfast Club (seeing that Charlamagne is from The Breakfast Club as well).

What I enjoy the most about this podcast is that they talk about current events and give their raw, honest opinions while being funny as hell. I love a good laugh -- especially when I know my day is going to get hectic.

Schultz and Charlamagne definitely bring the funny and realness in this podcast.

3. The Meditation Podcast

This year, one of my goals is to start meditating everyday. Meditating is something that Is difficult for me. I am not fully comfortable sitting in silence yet because my mind is always racing.

I started listening to The Meditation Podcast and I really enjoy it. This podcast sounds best when you have your headphones in, so make sure that you have those handy when listening!

The sounds in this podcast are supposed to ease your mind and put you in a state of relaxation. It has definitely helped me to get accustomed to practicing meditation. This podcast is perfect for your morning commute or even when you're on a lunch break.

4. The Generation Why Podcast

If you enjoy stories about unsolved murders, mysteries and crime then this podcast is for you!

Each week, there is a new story about a popular mystery or controversy is discussed by the hosts, Aaron & Justin. They talk about their individual theories and they share their opinions on the crime story for that week.

It's really interesting and will get you thinking and formulating conspiracy theories of your own. This podcast is definitely a way to get your mind off of a stressful situation/day.

5. The Beige Phillip Show

I love this show because it talks about dating/relationships. This is actually a continuation of Patrice O'Neal's Black Phillip Show. Patrice O'Neal was a popular stand up comedian who died in 2011 from complications of a stroke.

This podcast is hosted by comedian Dante Nero and co-hosted by comedians Harry Terjanian and Mara Marek. What I like about this podcast is that these comedians give their unfiltered thoughts on relationships, dating and overall game. It's interesting to hear a man's thoughts/views on relationships.

This is definitely a podcast worth listening to.
